Join BSBA.

BSBA members share ideas and experience as we work together to develop a Babydoll breed for Australia.

Our Memberships

We offer two levels of membership. A membership can only be in one person's name.

Associate member is typically an enthusiast or additional family member/partner associated with a Babydoll stud. Associate members can participate in our events such as stud tours and Babydoll conversations on Zoom. They have access to the members area on the BSBA website and the BSBA Members group on Facebook.

Breeder member typically owns and breeds Babydoll sheep. In addition to the benefits of Associate membership, Breeder members can run a registered BSBA Babydoll flock and register Babydoll sheep. Our registry in Grassroots provides useful tools for breeders including tracking pedigrees, printing pedigree certificates. It can be used to make reports about how the sheep in your flock are related to each other (Kinship) to help you to decide which ram to use. BSBA also offers Breeder members ways to advertise and market their stud and individual sheep.

The membership year ends on 30 June.

Applications for new memberships submitted in May and June include the time remaining in the membership year plus the next full year at no extra cost.

Membership applications are accepted subject to approval by the Committee. This may take several weeks. By applying for membership you are agreeing to support our Objectives and abide by the Constitution and Code of Ethics.

Hints for joining BSBA
When you click the button to join, you will move to the Grassroots site where we manage memberships and register Babydolls. In the membership form:
  • You only need to submit the form once - it does work the first time.
  • BSBA membership can only be in one person's name
  • Prefix - the name that you would like to use for your flock (if you have one). The prefix is used at the start of the name of each sheep that you breed. Keep it short and don't include 'Babydoll'. You can see examples of prefixes that other breeders have used on our Stud Profiles page.
  • Address - please include your state
  • Ministry Tag - British name for your Property Identification Code (PIC). In Australia, having a PIC is a legal requirement before you move sheep onto your property.
  • Brucellosis accreditation - highly recommended if you will ever be selling rams. If you don't know about Brucellosis accreditation, your answer will be Not Accredited. This can be changed later if your status changes.
