Are you looking for Babydoll Sheep to buy?
Our breeders generally sell their sheep in late Spring and Summer after the lambs have been weaned.
If you are buying a ram, it is recommended that you buy from a Brucellosis accredited flock.
If you are buying ewes and rams, it is a good idea to check that they are Gaucher Free (see more about Gaucher) to avoid introducing this genetic defect into your flock.
Our Babydoll breed standard describes the traits that a well bred Babydoll sheep should have. Buying registered Babydolls (especially registered BSBA Purebred Babydolls) provides reassurance that the sheep are indeed Babydolls. Sheep registered with BSBA as EM Babydoll are either crossbred or have not yet been inspected for Purebred registration. The % Southdown shown on their pedigree certificate gives you an accurate indication of the purity of their pedigree. Babydolls need to be over 93% (fourth cross) before they are eligible for inspection for BSBA Purebred Babydoll registration.
If this is your first time buying sheep, see Babydoll Sheep - Choices for ideas about what you might consider when choosing what types of sheep to buy.
You can contact individual Breeder Members to ask what sheep they have available or perhaps join their waitlist. Our members have agreed to abide by our Code of Ethics.
You can also join our Facebook page Babydoll Sheep - Increase or Decrease Your Flock to see sheep listed for sale by our members.
